Preflight profiles are a set of rules that determine what issues to check for when running a preflight check. They ensure your file is passes all checks before going into print production. This tutorial shows you how to export & import existing preflight profiles into InDesign so you can share or start using your preflight profiles.

Open InDesign.
Click Preflight (Panel).
If not visible, go to Window > Output > Preflight.
Click the hamburger in the top right of the panel and select Define Profiles.
A pop up will appear for Preflight Profiles.
To export:
In the left box click on the profile you wish to export.
Click the hamburger icon at the bottom of the box and click Export Profile.
Choose a location to save the file.
Click Save. (This will save the settings as an IDPP file.)
To import:
Click the hamburger icon at the bottom of the box and click Load Profile.
Navigate to the Preflight Profile you’d like to import and click on the IDPP file and click Open.
This will add the profile into InDesign.
